Coaching and Mentoring for Leadership Development in Civil Society

This paper examines a range of practitioners’ experiences of using mentoring and coaching with leaders of civil society organizations in a range of contexts. The paper first defines the difference in approach between coaching and mentoring, then looks into the practice and experiences from civil society, and finally outlines the key factors in successful coaching and mentoring. It also gives an overview of common coaching models and tools.
