Liberia and Sierra Leone are undergoing important transitions. The countries provide important case studies on how the United Nations can ensure successful transitions, not only from peacekeeping to peacebuilding, but also from conflict to building a sustainable peace. With the current UN focus on conflict prevention for sustaining peace, this policy brief provides practical recommendations on what this means in practice.
